Once a year, Plateforme10, the newest cultural district of Lausanne, transforms museum walls into a cinematic landscape with a mini rendition of Switzerland’s favorite film festival.
In the summer evenings the concrete façade of the Photo Elysée, Museum for Photography, and mudac, Museum of Contemporary Design and Applied Arts, takes on a new as a large movie screen that showcases the highlights from previous editions of the Locarno Film Festival.
This year marks the third edition of this event, curated by Giona A. Nazzaro, the Artistic Director of the Locarno Film Festival. The six night festival promises an eclectic mix of films, all free of charge and open to the public.
It’s a fusion of art and cinema, breathing life into the otherwise quiet museum evenings (don't worry, the bluetooth headphones makes sure the neighbors aren't disturbed too much).
The movie line-up for the week includes: The Old Oak (Ken Loach, 2023), Ricardo et la peinture (Barbet Schroeder, 2023), Daaaaaali (2023, Quentin Dupieux), Yannick (2023, Quentin Dupieux) Anatomy of a Fall (2023, Justine Triet), La Voie Royale (2023, Frédéric Mermoud) and La Paloma (Daniel Schmid, 1974).
This carefully curated selection of films offers a glimpse into the artistic excellence celebrated by the Locarno Film Festival. Join the fun and watch as the museum's walls transform into a canvas for cinematic gems.... Get your tickets for this outdoor cinema event at the museum here.
